The instrument is a compact system that seamlessly complements other laboratory instruments, including automated screening platforms. Its miniaturization to the millimeter scale delivers a 1,000-fold leap in productivity.
BENEFITS OF MILLIFLUIDIC TECHNOLOGY:
A droplet of a hundred nanoliters to a few picoliters replaces a Petri dish or an incubator to grow bacteria, fungi, algae or yeast.
Preparation, incubation, analysis and high-throughput sorting operations are done by a single instrument.
Each droplet is a reservoir handled individually: choose the initial composition, add compounds, sort droplets of interest.
Because of the high number of droplets, we can observe many reactions in parallel, without cross-contamination between cultures or evaporation.
Microorganisms are cultivated, analyzed and recovered automatically in the MilliDrop Analyzer.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1 – GENERATION
Up to 10 technical replicates per condition
Little time spent in front the machine
Up to 94 different conditions
Small sample volume
2 – incubation
Homogeneous growth conditions
Temperature range from 15 to 50°C
3 – Mesurement
1000 isolated reactors measured independently
Kinetic measurements using up to 4 fluorescence channels
4 – Sorting
Identify the most interesting droplets
Collect the droplets of interest in a 96-well plate
Sorted reactors ready for DNA/RNA extraction
